1 minute read

There’s been some slow progress, but progress for bringing myself back to the older days. My iPhone 13 Pro, with it’s 6.1” screen has been stripped of pretty much every entertaining app it ever had. It’s down a browser, email, a couple 2FA apps for work, banking, and a few necessary apps, like the one for connecting to a running watch.

The nagging annoyance of carrying almost half a pound in my pocket finally got to me. I’m trading a hand me down iPhone 13 Pro, with it’s 6.1” screen for a 13 mini. It’s shaving off about 2.25 ounces, 1/2” in height, and a 1/3” in width. It’s small enough to shove in a the pocket of a pair of running shorts, and old and cheap enough to not need a case.

The screen size may be a deterrent to too much use. It’s large enough to catch up on news, toss out a quick email or text, play some music. Maybe it can even work for typing up a note in Bear. But playing a game? Serious reading? Getting sucked into a reddit thread? Nope. One less way for it to be entertainment.

Combined with a slow return to reading, I’m planning on carrying a book to lunch.
