Intent Matters
During a discussion with an AI (for work), I asked it for evidence based advice for increasing power while lifting heavier weights. Power, the applying strength quickly, complements running, particularly hills. Reasearch link
It suggested having the proper intent. Yeah. Intent, mind set, purpose. And it names a paper. It sounds a little bizarre on the surface, but when you think about, consciously thinking “Push the Earth away” on a squat’s concentric triggers different pathways than simply attempting to lift the weight. One tells the muscles to “GITTER DUN!”. The other is a milquetoast “just do it,” and not the Nike sentiment.
